Few days ago I woke up and saw at least 30+ emails regarding login attempts in my account. Thanks to facebook and their security features like 2 step verification, I was able to secure my id before the hacker could do any damage.

I’m not going to teach you how to hack a facebook account, I will just guide you to secure your account.
Without further ado, Let’s get started-
1) Your Facebook ID’s Date of Birth
The Date of Birth that you’ve used in your facebook account plays an important rule in hacking your id. There are lots of hacker that uses the date of birth glitch to hack a facebook id. Without that they can not hack it.
To secure your id from these kind of hackers, always hide your date of birth. If you don’t want to hide the date and month then at least hide your year of birth.

2) Turning ON Two Factor Authenticator or Login Approval
Some people think that Two step verification is all they need. The truth is, in some situations yes, but no, it can’t save you always. There are atleast 5 different ways to bypass Two step verification of facebook.
Turning on Two step verification is a very important as it will notify you and send you a code when someone from an unknown device tries to login to your id. Go to your facebook account’s setting > login > Two step verification and turn it on.
Don’t make the mistake of challenging a hacker just by turning 2 step verification on as it won’t secure your id from everyone. Follow all the steps that I have explained in this post to make your facebook account 100% secure.
3) Add Trusted Contacts (MOST IMPORTANT)
Always try to keep your trusted contacts option turned on. You can add 3-5 friends as your trusted contacts. If you don’t add these in your account then it can get hacked for sure, no matter how secure your id is.
Everything that we submit in facebook gets validated by robots, not a human. So, it is fairly easy to trick a robot and hack an ID.
How to add trusted contacts
- Login to your facebook account
- Proceed to Security and Login
- Click on Choose 3 to 5 contacts (Add 3-5 very close friends of yours. Try to add family members)
- Click on save and that’s it
4) Turn ON login alerts
Turn your account’s login alert from settings > Security and login > login alerts. This way if someone tries to login to your id, you will get an immediate notification as well as an email that someone is trying to or has logged into your account. This will happen if someone tries to login from an unknown device.
5) App Password
Always set an App password for your account. This app password will let you login to your facebook account if you forget your account’s password.
6) Facebook ID Name
Always use your real name in your facebook id that matches with your passport/driving license/Birth certificate. Don’t use special characters in your name, it will get your id banned.
If you use your real name and in the event that someone has reported your id and facebook has disabled it, they will ask for an identity proof like passport and things. It has to match with your account’s name and date of birth.
7) Email, Phone Numbers
Always add verified email and phone numbers in your account. Do remember to hide them from your account or people can easily use them to hack your account.
